Holly – DIY Enthusiast, Writer and Extreme Tea Drinker!
I live and breathe DIY. I can spend hours on Pinterest gathering up ideas and inspiration. I believe that with the right color of paint anything can become wonderful again, and that perseverance and hard work are the keys to success. I am a little too good at multi-tasking… as I sit here and type I have one hand manning my Cricut (a Cricut is a crafting tool used to cut all kinds of materials… just in case you didn’t know). There are just never enough hours in the day!
I am a mother to two beautiful children Ava and Douglas and I couldn’t do what I do without the love and support from my wonderful hubby, Jaime. Family is very important to me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them! With my mother, Mandy and my two sisters Heather and Roni by my side, we have all kinds of fun doing all different types of DIYs. I hope you enjoy following along on this journey with us, and I hope you come back soon! I love to communicate so feel free to reach out!!
Mandy — Designer, Florist and Pug Lover
6 years ago the adventure began — I bought a little flower shop in the small town of Ingersoll, Ontario, and it was very exciting! Living the dream with flowers, and flowers and more flowers — this is where I first learned the “power of the flower” as I like to call it. That when you give someone a flower, you are giving more than a gift, you are giving your sentiment, your feelings, and there is nothing else in this world that can do this like a flower. After 3 years of flowers, I was anxious to branch out a little more into the world of creativity, so I approached my brother Vince with my many ideas, and said “let’s buy an old building and redo it” — as he is a genius carpenter, he was in, and very quickly so were the rest of family. A pile of junk was left behind in the building we purchased, and Holly very quickly said “we have gold in here” – and Gracie’s Place was born.
The most important thing to me is my family and with grandchild number five on the way, it is growing rapidly! Having the ability to be with them all the time doing what we all love doing, truly is living the dream. It is very exciting, and I hope you will all come along for the ride. Not only will we be showing you how to DIY, but we will be letting you have sneak peaks at this old turn of the century building we purchased in the quaint town of Thamesford. Keeping the old time charm with that spin of glamorous modern architect. Come visit us any time and meet our trusty DIY pug, Bella.Everybody loves Bella!
Heather — Wife, Mother, DIYer’ and Reba fanatic
Hi guys! My name is Heather, and I am the daughter of Mandy and sister to Holly and Veronica. My husband Ryan and I have a beautiful daughter named Audrey, and a big clumsy, lovable St. Bernard named Lucy. I first discovered the wonderful world of DIY during my maternity leave with Audrey. After working full-time, ever since graduating high school, I wasn’t use to all this “free time” (I use that term very loosely), and started looking for stuff to do around the house. I found this great idea on Pinterest to do a pallet plank wall behind the toilet in the bathroom… I fell in love with this idea right away! So off I went, and taking one idea, I totally transformed my bathroom, and was instantly hooked on DIY!
I love working with my sisters and mother to create awesome DIYs, and I love creating one of a kind pieces for my home. I love working with old fence boards and mason jars. When Holly and I are DIYn’ you will often find us spouting off our favorite lines from our favorite show, Reba. It is one funny show, and if you have never seen it, you should check it out!
